Natividad Pizzaro, age 37, was ordered to not own or work with animals after her dog, named Beauty, died in February and from frostbite and severe emaciation, the office reports.
A veterinarian at Angell Animal Medical Center told law enforcement that an owner, later identified as Pizzaro, had brought in her dead six-year-old female Pit Bull-type dog on Feb. 2, the office reports.
The dog, later identified as Beauty, "had severe muscle wasting, was covered with mud and feces, had ulceration between her toes, and was matted with wet coat hair." the office said citing a report filed to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSCPA).
The report found that Beauty likely died from starvation, environmental conditions and emaciated body conditions, the office reports. Pizzaro is due back in court on August 18 for a pretrial hearing, the office reports.
